This
year saw ladies connected to Queensferry Care put a team forward for the
raft race. The Rotary have supported us in so many ways over the years
we decided to support their event. So although the “Cute Canaries”
didn’t raise funds for Queensferry Care this year we set ourselves the
task of doing the race and if all went well we would do it again next
year with a fund-raising aim. In the ladies race we were a very close
third place (not bad for a first attempt) although it has to be said
there were only three ladies teams in this year! It was very cold, very
wet but everyone enjoyed the excitement and fun of the day. The team
consisted of Captain Gillian Smith and crew members Carole Shaw, Lorna
Russell, Maria Kjellman, Karen King, Heather Wells, Liz McIntosh and
Sharon Homan. It was an enjoyable day and it was just a pity the weather
wasn’t kinder. Thank you to all the team who certainly stood out in
their bright yellow T Shirts and increased awareness about our
organisation.
