Daycare Helper

We are seeking Volunteers for our daycare in South Queensferry. You would be Supporting people to participate in activities, having a chat and generally making people feel welcome and engaged throughout the day. Daycare runs from 10.30 to 3.00 and you can volunteer for a morning or afternoon session or both.

Daycare Kitchen Assistant

Helping to make tea and coffee and to plate up lunch and stack the dishwasher. Daycare runs from 10.30 to 3.00 and you can volunteer for a morning or afternoon session or both.

Reception Cover and Administrative Support

At the Haven which is open Monday to Friday from 9.00 to 5.00. Volunteers can do a half day or part day.

Befriender

You would visit an older person within their own home. There are no set hours however we would need to know the hours and days that you would be able to commit. A time commitment of 1-2 hours per week or fortnight is preferred.

Supper Club

Offers a relaxed environment for carers and the person they care for to enjoy one another’s company in a social setting. Volunteers are needed to ensure everyone is able to participate and help with refreshments.

Events Fundraiser

Join our Events and fundraising team for an exciting new challenge.  We are looking for volunteers to help run events for Queensferry Care.  These events will be varied and we will match them to your skill base. No Previous experience required as full training and support will be given.

Gardening

We are seeking a volunteer to keep our small community garden space , light gardening, no experience required. We also have a gardening tidy service, going out to peoples homes to weed, trim and generally tidy up to make the garden ready for the summer or winter last tidy up.

Lunch Club 

Live, Laugh, Lunch is a new service on the first Thrusday of the month at Kirkliston Community Centre and third Thursday at Ratho Community Centre. Volunteers to assist with serving and set up 10.30-1.30.

Driving 

Public transport doesnt always fit in with times for appointments. Volunteers will take older people along to appointments such as dentist, hair or doctors. You would need to have your own car with valid MOT and join the PVG Scheme. Volunteers will be emailed or called when requests come in for the service.
