Board Member

Ian became a board member in 2014 and Finance Director in 2015 until 2022. He is a great supporter of the organisation and is also a member of the finance committee.  Ian is married to Moira and they have 3 grown up children -  two living in Australia and one in Edinburgh.

Where do or did you work?

Ian has been retired from banking for almost 10 years, having spent a total of 48 years in a variety of roles in the banking sector.   He was with Clydesdale Bank for 35 years and Standard Life Bank (latterly Barclays Bank) for 13 years.

When and why did you get involved with QCCC?

Ian became a board member in 2014 and Finance Director in 2015. Through Queensferry Parish Church Ian had been loosely involved for some years previously and wanted to support the charity in any way he could.

What hobbies and interests do you have?

Ian enjoys golf, walking and seeing his grandchildren grow up.  They have six grandchildren in Australia and three in Edinburgh where both he and Moira have actively helped with child care over the years.

He has been an elder in the Church of Scotland for over 40 years and is currently assisting another congregation as Treasurer in addition to still being an active elder in Queensferry Parish Church.
