John Brodie
John lives in South Queensferry, is married to Carol, and has two adult children. He joined our board in 2026.
Where do or did you work?
He is a Chartered Accountant who spent 8 years in practice before joining Scotmid where he spent the rest of his career.
He retired in 2024 having been CEO at Scotmid for 20 years.
During that time he represented Scotmid on a number of Boards, Chaired the Scottish Retail Consortium and served on the ICAS Audit Committee.
When and why did you get involved with QCCC?
He served previously on the QCCC Board after some gentle arm twisting from the late Rev John Carrie!
More recently he was a Board member of The Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity retiring in 2024.
What hobbies and interests do you have?
He is currently getting used to having time to do what he wants!
Enjoys travel and holidays and boating around the west coast of Scotland and the odd game of golf.
He has also started to attend to his 20 year long list of chores he never got to whilst working, but fortunately enjoys DIY for the most part!
