Lorna Russell

Volunteer Coordinator

Lorna joined Queensferry Care 4 years before the first iPhone!

Where do or did you work?

Lorna has worked for Queensferry care since 2003 and her role has evolved from recruiting volunteers to coordinating all volunteering activity; day care, befriending, gardening, driving and lunch clubs.  She also provides support for local providers of services and activities for older people under the umbrella of the Volunteer Hub.

When and why did you get involved with QCCC?

As mentioned previously this was in 2003 and previously, Lorna had varied roles in HR and customer care.  She enjoys working with over 80 amazing volunteers who make such a difference through the gift of their time, their personal qualities, and determination to make a difference to the people QCCC support.

What hobbies and interests do you have?

Lorna returns to her hometown, York, several times a year to visit family and friends and enjoys travelling to warm climates. She loves reading and panics if she hasn't got books in reserve.  Time and motivation permitting Lorna dabbles reasonably successfully in basic DIY.
