Queensferry Care awarded transformational £250k grant from Bank of Scotland

Queensferry Churches' Care in the Community has been awarded a transformational £250,000 grant from Bank of Scotland Foundation over five years to support its essential work with older people and their carers. The funding will provide £50,000 per year in unrestricted income, giving the charity vital stability at a time of rising demand and financial pressure.
The award will help Queensferry Care sustain and strengthen a wide range of community services, including Day Opportunities, Lunch and Supper Clubs, Befriending, Garden Tidy and Driving Services, all of which help older people stay connected, independent and well in later life.
Supporting around 400 people each year across rural northwest Edinburgh, Queensferry Care plays a crucial role in tackling loneliness, improving wellbeing and providing much-needed respite for carers.
Unrestricted funding of this scale is particularly significant, allowing the charity to respond flexibly to local needs while covering core costs such as rent, staffing, transport, food, activities and essential running expenses. The support from Bank of Scotland Foundation will help ensure these valued services can continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of local people for years to come.
Andrew Burton, Chairperson of Queensfery Care, said:
"We are incredibly grateful to Bank of Scotland Foundation for this wonderful support. To have been afforded such a level of support & significant financial backing demonstrates not only the value of all our teams but just how vital services like ours are in supporting the most vulnerable in our communities. This funding gives us the stability and confidence to continue supporting older people and carers in our community, ensuring they remain connected, valued and supported."
Queensferry Care has been serving the local community for more than 30 years and is rooted in its mission of "connecting people with their community." Its small staff team is supported by a large and committed group of volunteers who help make that work possible every day.
