Since Monday 17 August the day care team have been visiting our day care members at home. We had hoped to be able to welcome people back to The Haven before now, however we are still awaiting confirmation from H&SC that we can reopen. To gauge interest the day care team had been asking if people would like a home visiting service. From these discussions 96% of our current day care members decided that this would be a good alternative, at least for the time being. Day Care at Home provides the same type of activities people would enjoy whilst at The Haven, and we have been introducing new activities too. Day care members are able to choose what happens during our visit, and have been enjoying dominoes, cards, crafts, crosswords, seated exercises, gardening, baking, walks around the local area, or just enjoying the company and having a chat. Day Care at Home also gives family members the opportunity to get a wee break. This is a new way of working for us, and we will continue to adapt and develop this service together with our day care members and/or their family members, until such time as we can reopen The Haven.
